The Sartorialist | LA Book Signing

On Sunday, Los Angeles had the pleasure of hosting Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist, on his second of six stops for the signing of his second book, "The Sartorialist:Closer".

My dear friend, Linda and I got the chance to spend the early evening at the Helms Bakery District to grab his book at Arcana Books, have a beer float at Father's Office, and do some knick knack shopping in H.D. Buttercup.

There's not much more we can say about Scott Schuman, fashion photographer and blogger, that hasn't been said before and can't be discovered from his blog. He was absolutely a delightful man and had each fan sit with him as he signed their book, and sent each away with a classy, "Ciao!"

It was an honor to simply meet the man, and I'm excited to own a copy of his latest book

Dancers Among Us

On Sunday afternoon, I spent some time at the bookstore and being intrigued by the art of dance, picked up Dancers Among Us to flip through.

What I discovered was Jordan Matter's talented representation of the human body's ability to tell a story. The book is filled with photos of dancers frozen in poses in everyday activities such as work, play, and emotional instances like grieving.

I literally flipped through the whole book, and despite that, would still love to have this book on my coffee table to escape into.

The photos are breath taking, sweet, and sometimes mind boggling of real dancers (many you may have seen before in performances and movies), taken by Jordan Matter himself. Here are a few of my favorites.
