DIY Inspiration: Scallop Denim Shorts

Who isn't love with denim shorts? Especially with Summer right around the SoCal corner, I know I could live in a pair everyday. The best part about it is that denim shorts aren't always born denim shorts, in past lives, they could've been a pair of your favorite ripped jeans, or jeans that your mom spontaneously decided to hem too short. Or best yet - they could previously have been some hot man's levi's at the thrift shop. Whatever they started as, they're comfy as hell and can be styled so many different ways.

In my case, I've got some jeans that I've gracefully ripped in the thigh area - you know, for fun and because these thunder thighs don't lie. I've been thinking about how I want to restyle the jeans and bam. I found my next DIY project.

Scalloped Denim Shorts!

I love these shorts from Mink Pink and though I'd love to purchase them - I can make them for free, and so can you! Have any denim shorts you want to revamp, or jeans you want to transform?

Look out for my future DIY! :)

Updates :)

Hi Everyone!

Not out of the ordinary did I fall off the face of the earth this past month and for that I will apologize! :)

As an update to my Extreme Fat Smash Diet - I have given up on following the exact diet, but like I mentioned in my past post, have definitely picked up the habit of a low calorie diet and a high cardio workout (with some weights) to offset my weekend splurges.

With that said, I am a happy 123 pounds

When I started this diet in early April, I was 128 pounds, and my long term goal is to get down to 115 pounds. Truly understanding that losing 12 pounds in 3 weeks is absolutely NOT realistic for me, I still have awhile to go and hope to make it to 120 pounds by the end of May :)

Working through some great days of motivation and strictness with my diet and then some days of discipline flying out the window, it is even more apparent to me that in order for me to lose weight, I need to make a committed lifestyle change, not a temporary extreme effort to kick the pounds.

Dr. Ian Smith and the Extreme Fat Smash Diet - I loved and hated you for about a month, and now I bid you farewell - and thank you for teaching me the eating habits and lifestyle changes I needed to make to get the weight loss moving!

As for the rest of my life - My beautiful friend, Heidi graduated with a Masters in Education, Bertie and I got to relax at our childhood beach, in a different story; Bertie and I met Stella from Modern Family at the Pet Expo...and I am SO excited for Summer! The days are warming up and the sun is sticking around longer into the night. I can't wait for some amazing adventures to be planned and shared with you!

Don't you love that the guy taking our picture didn't correct our misspelled name? ;)

Have a wonderful day!
